If you’re a human being over the age of 14, you’re probably concerned with staying fit and healthy but you’re probably also finding it difficult to find the time. Luckily, sisters Ali Lucas and Liz Cruso have created a fitness program called JustLive360° that’s one hour from start to shower and can be done in the comfort and privacy of your own home, on your own time.

“JustLive360 is a commitment to a fully realized, whole, healthy life. It’s living your life in 360 degrees. We believe being fit is not a number on the scale,” Ali explained. “It is about being strong, in body and mind.”

The 12 week home fitness challenge is meant to help people transition into truly healthy living, and is built on four cornerstones:

1. Conditioning our bodies through fitness
2. Fueling our bodies through Whole Foods and good nutrition
3. Finding clarity and emotional balance through self care, self expression and self love
4. Surrounding yourself with a community of people that love you, inspire you and support you

The fitness portion offers a full body experience, broken down into two parts, which can be taken separately or in tandem:
1) Fit360°, which is a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) session with weighted resistance (5-20 pounds) to build muscle for greater strength and endurance for all of life’s challenges.
2) Flow360°, which is focused on improving balance and fluidity while also helping to restore the body and mind, and helps your workouts be more effective and safe; this is achieved by combining the fluidity if yoga, the grace and focus of Tai Chi, the precision of Pilates® and the tempo of Barre®.

“We are so grateful to Mike of Westerly Fitness because he allowed us to offer some demonstration classes,” Ali said. From there, they split the combined Fit & Flow into two separate classes; Fit currently being offered at Westerly Fitness on Thursdays at 6:30pm (Flow is on temporary hiatus at Westerly Fitness while Ali is on maternity leave).

Fitness brought the sisters closer together than ever, and they started talking about people who can’t make it to the gym but still want a full body workout. “There’s a lot of equipment to consider, and a lot of adjustable equipment available, but we wanted to make a program with little-to-no equipment,” Ali explained, in an effort to keep things as simple as possible and keep the motivation alive.

This led them to collaborate with their father, Bob Cruso, who loves to invent and build things in his workshop and together they came up with a lightweight wheel that can have extra weight added to it, up to 20 pounds. “We are only where we are because of him,” Ali said of their father.

“We are two sides of the wheel,” Ali laughed when asked about her relationship with her sister. “I have a background in theater tech and dance, and she went to the University of New Haven on a basketball scholarship and now she’s a personal trainer.” Ali had been living in New York City but returned to the area after she had a baby and began taking classes at the YMCA, where she saw a sign for Pound certification class and was inspired to give it a shot. That was two and a half years ago and she’s been dedicated to a lifestyle of fitness ever since.

Ali and Liz have been running their first sessions since January, learning from observations and feedback with their first participants and tailoring the program accordingly so it is ready to officially launch on July 2nd. On that day, their website will go live and the home programs will be available after purchasing and creating member ID.

“JustLive360° was fortunate enough to gather 17 individuals willing to be our very first Home Program test group,” Ali explained. “This last Saturday was their final day. We want to thank them all for their support, commitment and invaluable feedback. We look forward to connecting to more and more people and living our 360Life with you!”
