One thing that always struck me as odd, is the lack of chain pizzerias in the Westerly area. Over the years there have been a few that have come and gone, but none have stood the test of time. Maybe it goes back to the town’s Italian ancestry, or the fact that a local pizza house does a much better job. Whatever the case, if you want a good Italian meal, Voc’s Dunns Corners Pizza delivers!
The moment I walk in the door I can smell the flavors and aromas of homemade delicious food — food made with passion and love. I’m greeted immediately by the proprietor (this is a local establishment after all) with a smile and a “How are ya?”. I instantly feel right at home.
High Tops
I usually dine by myself, so automatically I gravitate towards the high top seating, but there are plenty of spacious booths available to spread out or seat the family.
The menu already seems familiar with it’s variety of Italian favorites — salads, appetizers, grinders, pasta dinners, panini, wraps, burgers, sandwiches and of course pizza! Something for everybody and no one leaves hungry!
The proprietor is here of course greeting guests and talking with the regulars, I ask them if they have time, and of course, obliges me with a few minutes.

We serve homemade Italian favorites — the same ones our family has grown up on for 3 generations. Our sauce is our own family recipe; Mama Rosas — hailing from southern Italy — is the secret behind the recipe.
The Vocatura family didn’t start out in the restaurant business, they started with a small family bakery — Vocatura’s Bakery — on Pierce Street in Westerly’s North End. This is a part of town where large populations of Italian immigrants settled, and opened up businesses to serve their needs.
It was intimidating moving to a foreign land, only knowing what you knew from your homeland, and having local restaurants, social clubs and grocery stores catering to your needs helped to ease people into a new life. The bakery served up fresh baked bread for the locals daily, until they moved to there current location in Norwich, CT. There they serve the same fresh bread, baked daily, without compromising on the quality and freshness, from their humble beginnings.
The Vocatura family has been in the restaurant and food business for a long time and serve Westerly, Misquamicut, and Norwich with their old world family recipes. Voc’s Dunns Corners Pizza, located in Spindrift Village in Dunns Corners, and Voc’s West Side Pizza in Norwich, offer daily specials and pizza made with dough that is made fresh daily.
Voc’s Dunns Corners Pizza is open daily featuring their full menu; including beer, wine and fountain drinks.
